It looks as if the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day could finally finish a story that first began in the MCU eight years ago.
Michael Mando first debuted in the MCU in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming as Mac Gargan, better known as Scorpion.
During the events of that film, Gargan became closely affiliated with Michael Keaton’s Adrian Toomes, or Vulture.
Gargan was eventually apprehended by the FBI and sent to prison where he soon after came face to face with Toomes once more in a post-credits scene.

In the scene, Gargan assured Toomes that he didn’t blame him for his injuries, instead blaming “our little spider friend”.
Gargan then went on to explain he had some “boys on the outside who’d love to meet him” in a rather sinister tone.
As Gargan’s injured eye grew increasingly bloodshot, he confronted Toomes for allegedly knowing who Spider-Man is.
“If I knew who he was, he’d already be dead,” Toomes replied before the scene drew to a close.

And that was the latest we ever saw of Gargan; the character didn’t even get a chance to fully develop into the villain we know as Scorpion.
It looks like that could soon change though as after being absent from both Spider-Man: Far From Home and Spider-Man: No Way Home, actor Mando has been spotted on the set of the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The actor was captured on photo by excited fans positioned near to the film’s latest production location in Basingstoke, UK.
Mando was pictured departing a helicopter dressed in all-white clothing with a single handcuff on his wrist, the other side dangling down and open.
As such, it looks as if we’ll finally see Gargan escape from prison, ready to exact some revenge on Spider-Man - and he’s had plenty of time to allow his rage to build.

The photo has set the internet alight with fans thrilled about what’s to come.
“PRISON BREAK SCENE,” wrote Twitter/X user Austin_Medzz.
“Oh, we’re so back in the grounded Spider-Man era,” added Mandevil23.
“He’s wearing the same fit,” declared ignitedculez120, adding a screenshot from Spider-Man: Homecoming.

“If he didn’t blip, this would mean he’s been like 10 years in prison. He must be really pissed,” noted link_tiempo.
With Spider-Man: Brand New Day not set to land until 31 July 2026, there’s some way to go until Gargan is properly back on our screens, but the hype just keeps building for this sequel.
