MCU boss confirms exact year our MCU will come to an end

It seems we won't be leaving the cinema for a while

The future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is looking bright and according to a recent report by Kevin Feige himself, it is expected to continue for quite a long time.

With the Marvel Cinematic Universe just about to head into Phase Six, fans can expect a whole new bunch of movies and television shows celebrating some of their favourite superheroes and villains.

Phase Six kicks off with The Fantastic Four: First Steps when it hits cinemas on 25 July and will begin in earnest next year with the arrival of Avengers: Doomsday on 18 December.

This will mark the first time that fans will get to see our brand-new Avengers in action and is expected to continue onto 2027 with the arrival of Avengers: Secret Wars.

However, according to a recent statement by Kevin Feige for Deadline, Avengers: Secret Wars is planned to “reset singular timelines” and reboot the MCU as a whole.

As a result, current plans for the MCU are seven years with Feige claiming that “I think it goes to 2032.

“It’s on magnets, it can move around.”

So it seems that although Marvel Studios has plans for the MCU, nothing is set in stone and we could see projects scrapped or created over the next few years.

With the news of Feige’s plans for the future of the MCU now out in the open, fans took to BlueSky to share their thoughts.

“This really is just how comic books were back in the day,” user Senti shared.

“The stories got so complex and convoluted they just had to restart the entire thing for new readers and even old ones.

Now it's happening with the movies as well and it's probably for the best.”

However, user LilyMakesThings is feeling less optimistic.

“Honestly the MCU can never capture that same magic that RDJ, Evans, Hemsworth, Hiddleston and the other Avengers brought to it,” they wrote.

It remains to be seen how Phase Six of the MCU will be received by fans but with The Fantastic Four: First Steps hitting cinemas in just a few days, it appears that we don’t have long to find out.
