The MCU Will Not Recast One Hugely Popular Hero After Reboot

And I'm relieved to hear it

We’re inching closer to a major turning point within the MCU.

Avengers: Doomsday is on the way next year, landing on 18 December 2026, which’ll be followed by Avengers: Secret Wars on 17 December 2027.

This will mark the closure of The Multiverse Saga which, admittedly, has been far shakier than its predecessor, The Infinity Saga.

While we don’t know what lies beyond this saga’s conclusion, it’s expected that the MCU will begin to explore mutants following the upcoming introduction of the X-Men.

It’s also believed that the end of The Multiverse Saga will mark a major reset for the MCU, potentially allowing for certain characters’ stories to begin again.

Kevin Feige has teased as much, and it’s what every leaker is saying.

Many of the MCU’s OG heroes are reaching the end of their tenure.

Iron Man, Black Widow, and the Steve Rogers iteration of Captain America, for example, have had their stories conclude.

And as much as Chris Hemsworth loves playing Thor, I can’t imagine he’s going to want to do it forever.

A reset would allow Marvel to recast these important characters, beginning brand new arcs.

It’s a risky move, if that is indeed what is going to happen, but I can understand the logic.

The MCU has introduced some cool characters lately, but it’s the familiar heroes that draw casual cinemagoers in.

There is one hero, however, who reportedly won’t be recast.

Marvel leaker Alex Perez of The Cosmic Circus claims in a new report that Elizabeth Olden’s Scarlet Witch will not be recast following the conclusion of The Multiverse Saga.

“I’m wondering if you know what characters will NOT be recast after Secret Wars and will stay with their same actor/actress?" one fan asked the leaker.

"Scarlet Witch, for starters,” replied Perez.

It’s a brief response but it’s also a welcomed confirmation nonetheless.

It’s clear that Wanda isn’t going to stay ‘dead’ for long, and I still think she should get a solo film having shared the spotlight in other projects.

Naturally, I have to urge you to take all of this with a pinch of salt but it sounds very plausible.

For your next MCU fix, don’t forget that Marvel Zombies premieres on 24 September.
