MCU quietly cancels one of its most popular shows

It doesn't make any sense

Starting a new television show is like playing a game of Russian Roulette with many getting cancelled or announcing no immediate plans for a renewal after just one season.

That has definitely been the case for many Marvel Studios’ shows such as Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, She-Hulk, and more which have been left in season one limbo with Disney+ announcing no plans for a second season.

Interestingly, only Loki has been greenlit for a second season so there is really no rhyme or reason as to why so many television shows have not received the same treatment.

As mentioned, Ms. Marvel is just one of many Disney+ Marvel shows that has yet to receive a season two announcement but according to its star Aramis Knight, it is unlikely that it ever will.

Knight, who played Red Dagger in season one of Ms. Marvel recently spoke to Screen Rant about the future of the show.

Speaking at the New York City premiere of Karate Kid: Legends, Knight had some unfortunate news about a second season of Ms. Marvel.

“I don’t think [it’s happening]”, he said simply.

What makes this all the more confusing is that Ms. Marvel is the highest-rated live-action TV show from Marvel Studios, only standing up against season one of X-Men ‘97 when it comes to Rotten Tomatoes scores.

Season one of Ms. Marvel aired back in 2022 and was praised by fans and critics alike and despite directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah claiming that they were “deciding what the next step will be” back in 2023, there have been no further updates.

It remains a mystery as to why Marvel and Disney+ won’t renew one of its most successful shows, not to mention how disappointing it is for avid fans.

Hopefully a lack of official confirmation over the show being cancelled could spell its return in the future.
