The Marvel Cinematic Universe isn’t short of superhero teams. There’s the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the Defenders and many more, some of which haven’t been properly introduced yet.
Over the past few years, there have been a few cheeky hints and references to some other team-ups, with the one I’m most excited for being The Midnight Sons.
The Midnight Sons are a supernatural team of heroes that defend the Earth from magical or demonic threats rather than the supervillain-of-the-week or intergalactic planet conquerors.
The team is usually composed of Doctor Strange, Ghost Rider, Morbius and other characters who’ve walked the darker paths of the Marvel multiverse.

With the MCU exploring magic more thoroughly, it's clear the Midnight Sons will get their live-action debut eventually, and rumour has it that two beloved characters have already secured their spots on the team.
According to Jeff Sneider via The Hot Mic podcast, Moon Knight and Blade will play important roles in the upcoming team-up.
Sneider said, "I have heard Midnight Sons rumours. I have heard that it would be Mahershala [Ali] and Oscar [Isaac].”
This is exciting for a number of reasons. Marvel fans know all too well how difficult it has been for the MCU to introduce Blade, as issues regarding his debut film have prevented it from really going anywhere, angering Marvel executives like Kevin Feige and Mahershala Ali himself.

Deadpool And Wolverine even made a joke about the situation when Wesley Snipes’ version of the character said, “There’s only one Blade, there’s only ever going to be one Blade.”
Ali’s version of the character has made an appearance in Marvel’s animated projects though, in both Marvel’s What If?.. and Marvel Zombies.
Coincidentally, his debut came in the form of Blade as Moon Knight, a character we haven’t seen since his series ended in 2022.
Moon Knight even ended on a bit of a cliffhanger, with Marc Spector and Steven Grant believing their obligation to the moon god Khonshu was over, only for it to be revealed there was a secret, third personality hidden within their psyche still doing Khonshu’s dirty work for him.

If The Midnight Sons film is truly going ahead, it only feels right that both Blade and Moon Knight get to be part of it, though that doesn’t mean they can’t have their own solo projects too.
