The possibility of an actor not returning in the MCU is always on the cards, unless they’re Robert Downey Jr.

Still, although we understand this, it’s never easy saying goodbye to an actor and character we’d have liked to learn more about.

One Captain Marvel star has heavily hinted that their character's story has ended.

It’s not quite the massive 2025 shake up Doctor Strange fans are experiencing, but it’s still another piece of the MCU jigsaw we can place.

Let's see what the road ahead at Marvel Studios looks like.

Speaking to Variety about their time in Captain Marvel, Jude Law said that there wasn’t “much more” for his character.

In case you need a quick refresher, Law played the role of Yon-Rogg.

“I don’t think there was much more they could get out of Yon-Rogg,” revealed Law, “That, for me, was the height of Marvel.”

Despite believing their time with Marvel is now over, Law remarked on how much he enjoyed the experience.

That said, he also wishes he could have had “more fun” with Yon-Rogg.

“It was a really good experience. I wish I’d been allowed to have a bit more fun with the part. I wanted him to be more arch. I wanted to lean into the humour more,” Law added.

Just because Law doesn’t feel his MCU character has a place in the narrative anymore, doesn’t mean that there isn’t still lore from the Kree-Skrull conflict to explore.

We could see more of that play out on the big screen, or maybe in a TV show, but there's a wild new series to come first.

It’s doubtful that anyone is devastated that Law won’t come back to the MCU, at least not as Yon-Rogg.

Nonetheless, it better helps the fandom to predict what stories will be told when we learn of an actor's departure/return.
