Marvel bringing back MCU's Loki for wild new series

Loki what we got here!

Marvel has brought back fan-favourite MCU character Loki in a brand new limited series with some very special guests.

The MCU’s Infinity Saga had plenty of epic moments and some solid storytelling, especially when it came to character development. Take, for example, Loki, the brother of Thor, the God of Thunder and a leading member of Marvel’s Avengers.

Check out the Loki trailer below!

Played by the charismatic and charming Tom Hiddleston, Loki aka the God of Mischief went from a hated villain thirsting for power no matter the cost, to a hero that every fan would die for.

Now fans are always eager for more Loki and while we hope for his return in live-action form, we can at least marvel at his presence with the new comic series, TVA.

“The TVA has long watched over the timeline, protecting it from dangerous variations that could cause the end of everything,” reads the synopsis of TVA #1.

“Now, as the organisation begins to expand its tolerance of variants, it's enlisted some new recruits from timelines that have been wiped from existence: Captain Peggy Carter, Super-Soldier of her world; Gambit, despondent and aimless from the loss of his lady love; and…this can't be right…Spider-Gwen?”

I won't give too much away, just in case you’ve not watched Loki on Disney Plus, but this comic series will be heavily linked to it. What’s more, having multiverse shenanigans, the various Lokis (yes, plural) will no doubt have a huge role to play.

It looks like this comic series will also be inspired by another Disney Plus property, the animated series What… If?, seeing as it looks to feature its version of Peggy Carter’s Captain Britain.

Written by Katharyn Blair, with artwork from Pepe Larraz (cover) and Pere Perez (penciller), TVA #1 will be available from 18 December 2024, wherever you buy your comic books as well as digitally via Marvel Unlimited.
