A new trailer for the second season of The Rings Of Power dropped earlier today, inviting fans to return to the world of The Lord Of The Rings.

Whilst fan reception to Amazon Prime Video’s The Rings Of Power series wasn’t ideal, it was seemingly good enough to warrant a second season.

Check out the trailer for Season 2 below.

The new trailer was shown off through a tweet on the official Prime Video Twitter account, and teases big things for the show’s characters and story.

Some iconic locations could be spotted in the trailer, as well as plenty of magical effects and action sequences that can only be found in the realm of Middle-Earth.

How it’ll tie in to the wider lore of The Lord Of The Rings is unknown at the time of writing, but given that it’s a prequel story, it’s safe to say we won’t be seeing any familiar faces.

Also teased in the trailer was the second season’s release date, as the show is confirmed to return to Amazon Prime Video on 29 August this year.

The Rings Of Power trailer also comes just before the announcement that more films are in the works for The Lord Of The Rings franchise, including one about everyone’s favourite mutated hobbit, Gollum.

The Gollum film will star Andy Serkis, and hopefully it’ll be better than that video game the character got earlier last year…

It’s actually been a pretty big year for Lord Of The Rings fans, not only have we gotten this new trailer for The Rings of Power and the promise of new feature films, we’ve also been promised another game.

It’s called Tales Of The Shire, and it’s an adorable little hobbit game that’s basically a Lord Of The Rings twist on Stardew Valley.

So Lord Of The Rings fans have a lot to look forward to this year, starting with the second season of Rings Of Power this August.
