DCU Batman has already been perfectly cast, fans agree

It's been right in front of us the whole time

Batman fans think we already have the perfect person to play the character in James Gunn’s DCU, but I’m not convinced..

James Gunn has taken control of all DC films and TV series for the foreseeable future, which means we might finally get some consistency in its release, starting with Superman: Legacy.

Gunn has said future projects won’t be greenlit until an idea or script has been decided on, something Marvel doesn’t do as it greenlights projects years in advance and finds a writer/director later.

Provided Superman: Legacy doesn’t kill the franchise before it starts it'll only be a matter of time before Batman makes yet another big-screen debut, and fans want Robert Pattinson to play him.

Robert Pattinson of course played the world’s greatest detective in Matt Reeves' The Batman, and is in my opinion one of the best interpretations of the character we’ve seen on-screen before.

Some fans want him to play Batman in the DCU next, but like me many aren’t convinced it’d be a good idea.

In a Reddit thread discussing the possibility of Pattinson playing the same Batman but with multiverse shenanigans, or him playing a totally new version of the character just with the same face, fans made it clear they wanted him to be in his own universe.

“I mean let Matt finish his vision. The DCU Batman should not shy away from the supernatural and Metahuman aspects of the Batman mythos.”

“I think it’d be too confusing to have the same person play Batman in two separate continuities. Either he’s the Batman of the DCU or he’s not. He can’t be both.”

“Just let it ride. Reeves should probably hurry it up a bit but just let the man cook. It’s not built for the DCU nor should it.”

Personally, I like what Pattinson has been doing with Batman so far and I’d hate to see that ruined by having him fight superhumans with Superman.
