What a time to be alive – the games industry is thriving thanks to indie games, and now a classic franchise returns to us.

Although not all is well in the industry, as seen by the onslaught of layoffs, it’s comforting for gamers to see moments of joy.

Joy that’s coming in the form of Turok, specifically Turok, Turok 2: Seeds of Evil, and Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion. It’s a triple whammy!

Turok 3, and the first two Turok titles, are coming back. What better way to prepare than to watch the Shadow of Oblivion trailer!

Clearly, all those Turok fans begging for remasters on modern consoles will be overjoyed to see their efforts rewarded.

Some of you may not know of this franchise, and so it’s only right we inform you of its brilliance. This FPS franchise has it all, not least of all because of the rampaging dinosaurs you have to fight.

On Steam, the original game has an impressive 10 out of 10 review score, which is no easy feat.

But, as with all good things, here comes the small print details that may sour your excitement: the classic trilogy will be released as physical copies only.

Personally, I love owning physical copies of my favourite games, as it gives me that tangible, real life connection. However, not everyone is as passionate about them.

You won’t just be getting a copy of the remastered games though, but a treasure trove of extras as well, such as the CD soundtrack for Turok 3, and the full colour booklet for Turok 2, to name but a few examples.

This is a muster-have for all collectors.

If you intend to expand your physical games collection, the pre-orders for the Turok remasters are already open at Limited Run Games.

Better still, you’ll be able to purchase a copy regardless of which console you favour as there are Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation versions available.

Turok has returned to us, the question is, will you heed its call and embark on a thrilling adventure once more?
