PlayStation, Xbox Officially Join Forces, and We Love to See It

You like jazz?

PlayStation and Xbox have joined forces to bring us something beautiful, and it’s so great to see.

If you’ve been keeping up with the immensely successful multiplayer game Helldivers II you’ll likely know what we’re getting at, as the game released a brand-new trailer yesterday teasing something big.

The new “Bring The Boom’ trailer featured some explosive co-op gameplay of our brave Helldivers fending off the forces of evil.

As bombastic as the trailer was, it was the final 20 seconds that fans are freaking out about. The end of the trailer treated our ears to some smooth jazz, specifically jazz from the hit Xbox game Halo 3: ODST, one of my favourites in the Halo series.

Comparisons between the Helldivers and the ODSTs from Halo have been made ever since the game first came out, as both are brave soldiers that drop from orbit right into the heat of battle. Fans have wanted a collab for the longest time and hoped the Helldivers II port for Xbox would make it happen, clearly they were right.

What the collab will entail hasn’t been revealed just yet but it’ll likely be some ODST armour and maybe a weapon from the Halo series added to the game, regardless it’s very exciting.

Many are also praising both PlayStation and Xbox for working together on something, not that it’s the first time of course.

It also adds some credibility to the rumour that Xbox will bring the Halo series over to PlayStation at some point, though there’s no guarantee that’ll happen this year.

In the meantime this is going to be an incredible crossover and I can’t wait to give it a go for myself. I’m reinstalling Helldivers II right now in anticipation though a release date hasn’t been shared just yet.
