Those who are looking for an excuse to pick up The Witcher 3 again need to look no further than a brand-new update by CD Projekt Red itself which marks the start of a flood of new content.

First announced back in November of last year and finally released earlier this week, CD Projekt Red has released official mod tools for its hit The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Check out the trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt below!

Arriving as a free update for all PC users, The Witcher 3 REDkit mod tools will allow players to, as you guessed it, mod the game to their heart’s content. Although modders have already been hard at work modding the game over the past 9-years, they can now do it officially courtesy of CD Projekt Red itself.

Thanks to the REDkit players can add assets, rework files, create their very own cutscenes, add textures and more. Not only that but its developers have also released a tutorial for the mod kit which will give budding modders a bit more of an understanding of the process.

The REDkit is free to download for all PC users on GOG, Steam and the Epic Games Store and all that is required is owning The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

With such a show of support by CD Projekt Red, it is no wonder that the community is thankful and they took the time to thank the developers for the new mod kit.

One fan said: “It is insane how CDPR still elevates this game after 9 years. Thank you CDPR. I can't wait for the insane mods that'll come out.”

Another said: “Thank you CDPR for allowing us developers to do stuff with our favorite game!”

With the REDkit being a brand-new way for The Witcher 3 to get brand-new content, and ultimately, brand new fans almost 10-years after release, this is definitely a win for the hit RPG.
