The Witcher 3 just got a brand-new, official paid DLC

This game is 10 years old now btw

Yup, you’re reading that title correctly: a brand new, official, CD Projekt RED-sanctioned piece of DLC for The Witcher 3 just dropped on Steam in the year of our lord 2025.

However, if you were hoping to get a new side mission, some fresh new clothes, or even a Blood and Wine-sized expansion, then you will definitely be disappointed by what’s on offer, so try and temper your expectations a little.

“Immerse Gamepack”, a “spatial audio app” for The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, is actually more of a piece of software than anything, and it does come with a pretty hefty price tag considering what’s on offer.

Developed and published by Embody, in collaboration with CD Projekt RED, the Immerse Gamepack is essentially supposed to improve the audio experience for both games.

You’ll notice I said audio “experience” and not “quality”, because, as CD Projekt RED’s engineering director Colin Walder explains, it’s supposed to enhance the “sonic detail” of the audio outside of its raw sound.

This is all a really fancy way of explaining that this is a spatial audio enhancement for both games. Is the NPC that just sneezed on your left, or your right? Are they sneezing on you from above, or below?

Well, no need to guess anymore, as the Immerse Gamepack DLC adds 360-degree spatial audio tracking to both games, so you can follow every little sound to its most accurate location.

Oh, and, it’s £16.75. Woof. I dunno if I need my audio to be that crisp, guys. Seems kinda steep for something like this, but maybe the audio enthusiasts out there will consider it worth it.

There is a 14 day free trial however, so feel free to give it and go and let me know if it’s truly worth investing in.
