Cyberpunk 2077 final update leaves fans torn, and we can see why

Is this finally the end?

Fans of Cyberpunk 2077 have been through the wringer over the years, what with the game launching in a disastrous state, to having a steady trickle of updates that have improved the game to a state of brilliance.

Update after update rolled out, and many times CD Projekt Red claimed this was the final one, it’s the last time they’ll update the game.

Except, sike, there’s always another update around the corner and seemingly there’s another one on the way that many believe could actually be the final update to Cyberpunk 2077.

There are countless Reddit threads featuring fans wondering if the latest update will be the last, many of them asking, is this it?

The main reason so many are asking this is because of the modding scene for the game, which thousands of players dip into regularly.

Whenever an official update comes out, players either have to wait until mod creators also update the mods to ensure compatibility, or they have to roll back their game to an older version in order to play.

This latter option means they miss out on what CD Projekt Red has been cooking up, and that’s exactly what they’ve been up to for the next update.

Though details are scarce, the next update could be a big blowout with some DLC-style improvements in order to properly say goodbye to the game.

This is great, but it has made fans feel like they’re constantly being strung along, being told that this update is the last, and they can finally see the game for what it is.

From the developer’s perspective, if they think of something awesome they want to add, and it’s not costing the fans anything, they’ll just add it in.

This should be seen as a bonus, though some argue that it’s time to put this game to bed and get working on the sequel instead.
