Cyberpunk 2077 ‘final update’ roasted by fans, and we get it

Fans of Cyberpunk 2077 have been treated well over the past couple of years as the game received DLC and countless updates.

The development team has been working tirelessly to make Cyberpunk 2077 one of the best games out there since its disastrous launch, and it’s been going well.

CD Projekt RED recently announced that the game would be getting its final update in patch 2.21, but fans are not convinced.

It’s not the first time this has been said, and yet the team keeps going back and tweaking things, despite development starting on the upcoming sequel.

Over on Reddit, fans aren’t taking the announcement seriously.

“Guys, we’re TOTALLY DONE updating the game. Trust us, this is the LAST UPDATE,” jokes IceColdCocaCola545.

Another Redditor steps in to clarify things, noting, “To be fair, they never said 2.2 was final. They originally said 2.13 was, but after 2.2, they actually said they might have more coming.”

“After Witcher 3 got an update out of nowhere, I stopped believing their this is the last update,” comments Zerodyne_Sin.

For the last update, CD Projekt RED outsourced some of the work on Cyberpunk 2077, which frees them up to focus on The Witcher 4, so maybe they’ll keep doing this until they believe the game is what they intended.

One Redditor joins in with the jokes, saying, “My first thought. It's like they had a child, mistreated it, and then made up for it, but now they can't stop.”

Let’s not complain though, seeing as pretty much everything they’ve done has only made the game better, or expanded what’s available for players.

“This is great that they’re still adding bits in,” says an avid fan, and we hope this continues until the sequel rolls out in years to come.
