Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic finally returns in surprise new fan expansion

Heads up, Star Wars fans, it looks like we’ve got a new reason to go back and play Knights of the Old Republic again.

For the younger crowd who may not be aware, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is an RPG from 2003 that is often regarded as one of the best Star Wars games of all time.

Set during the Old Republic, as the title implies, it depicted a war between the Jedi and the Sith that occurred thousands of years before the Skywalker Saga.

Although we’re still not sure if the Knights of the Old Republic remake will ever see the light of day, the original game has been kept alive by the community modding scene.

Sleheyron: Story Mode is a new fan expansion made by modder SAO1138 that is now available for download.

The mod adds a new planet to the game, Sleheyron, building upon the Sleheyron demo by SithSpecter.

It’s a pretty big expansion, as it includes a new storyline that lasts approximately five hours, with a fully voice acted new party member.

This new character has a post-Sleheyron story and romance subplot too, with SAO1138 teasing that a future mod update will also include a Leviathan rescue.

In addition to this, new weapons and armour are available, as well as 25 new modules of various shapes and sizes.

SAO1138 is also a big fan of the Tales of the Jedi comic run, and has made an effort to include some references and connections to that series.

Although this is the 1.0 release of the mod, the author is open to feedback for future updates or bug fixes, should any issues arise.
