If you’re a long-time fan of The Simpsons, I have some pretty exciting news for you as the show has just brought back an infamous season one character.

If there’s one thing that should be brought back in this franchise, it’s The Simpsons: Hit & Run. Anyone who’s played this game will attest that it’s an all-time classic, myself included. Given the fact that remakes and remasters are all the rage right now, I’m surprised it hasn’t already happened. Just take a look at the success of the Resident Evil 4 remake. There is a fan-made open-world remake in the works, plus the game’s creator is open to working on an official version but let’s jump back to that season one character. Does anybody remember Jacques?

Someone modded Homer Simpson into God of War. Of course they did.

As reported by The Independent, Jacques returned during the recent ‘Pin Gal’ episode. The synopsis reads (via IGN), “A mysterious figure from Marge’s past returns to coach her for a bowling tournament.” Fans immediately suspected that this would be Jacques but the fact was later confirmed by showrunner Al Jean on Twitter who wrote, “Don’t nap on new episode Sunday. ‘Pin Gal’ with the return of Jacques,” ahead of the episode’s airing.

Jacques first appeared a whopping 33 years ago in the ‘Life on the Fast Lane’ episode. If you don’t remember the character, he essentially taught Marge how to bowl - and now history has seemingly repeated itself.

On the whole, fans were pretty excited about it. Twitter user thislovetaysver wrote, “I love this. This is so exciting,” while jaaiinna added, “A character I thought we would never see again. Excited to see how this is.” Which classic character should The Simpsons bring back next? I’m seeing a lot of love for Hank Scorpio on socials who just so happens to be voiced by Albert Brooks who also voices Jacques. Up for another round Albert?
