The Mandalorian season four is ‘certainly coming’, the producer promises.

There is no doubt that The Mandalorian is one of the most popular series on the Disney+ platform. The Mandalorian takes place somewhere between the events of the original Star Wars trilogy, but before the sequel trilogy, The Mandalorian offers the perfect opportunity to expand on previously existing lore as well as introduce new characters too.

The stars of the show are Din Djarin aka ‘The Mandalorian’ (Pedro Pascal) and his beloved companion Grogu, formerly known as ‘Baby Yoda’. The father/son dynamic between the two leading characters is one that has won the hearts of Star Wars fans and without giving anything away, following the conclusion of season three, fans cannot wait to get more of the lovable duo.

Yet, the question remains, when is season four arriving? When considering previous release years, season one and two were only a year apart released in 2019 and 2020 respectively. Unfortunately, largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, season three didn't arrive until 2023.

Thankfully, it’s highly unlikely that we’ll be waiting three years for season four and Force-willing, it might arrive sometime in 2024 or perhaps 2025 at the latest. However, as reported by IGN (via Deadline), series executive producer Rick Famuyiwa has assured fans that season four is “certainly coming”, despite it not being officially renewed (yet) by Disney.

“I think because of the way we shoot and how the stagecraft plays into it, a lot of this stuff has to be thought through, built, and conceived in prep and you don't necessarily have the luxury to start shooting and say, 'okay, we'll figure this out later',” Famuyiwa explained.

“I know that [co-creator Jon Favreau] has written the scripts. I know he's excited about continuing to tell stories in this world, and so when and how that happens, considering everything, we'll see”. He continued: “I felt like this season was a nice culmination, but I'm excited about Season 4. It's certainly coming, I just don't know exactly when.”

In related news, the adult version of Grogu looks incredible and a Star Wars prequel confirms the fate of two fan-favourite Jedi following the infamous Order 66.
