Great news! There’s a brand new patch out for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, and it’s available right now (if you’re on Steam).
Bad news! The fan base isn’t too impressed with the lack of important changes, given that the game has been out since April.
Alright, let’s get to the good news first.

Bethesda just revealed on Steam that a new patch for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered can be downloaded right this second, as long as you already signed up to be a part of the Steam Beta update program.
If you haven’t, don’t fret, because the update will be out officially on all platforms on June 11, so you’ve got just under a week from today until you can get your hands on it.
Over on the r/oblivion subreddit in a thread reacting to the patch notes, fans don’t seem too happy however.
Why? Well, because the update is only targeting bug fixes and quality of life updates, but it isn’t fixing any of the performance issues people have been running into.

“It's like Bethesda has been sleep walking”, commented user Grandkahoona01.
“If they were going to take this long to patch i would have hoped it would have been beefier than this.”
“That's what I thought”, replied user Initiatedspoon.
“It's nice to get an update, but there is no reason the stuff included here couldn't have been fixed within a week or two.”

Now, in Bethesda’s defence, they did state in their post on Steam that a patch that directly targets performance-related issues is on its way and that they “will share more details” when possible.
The problem is, who knows when that patch is actually going to drop? Could be next week, could be next month. Considering the game is already six weeks old at this point, it does seem a little ridiculous that some of the performance issues have yet to be addressed.
Here’s hoping it’s closer to next week than next month, because The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered’s performance on PC is a bit rough (to say the least).
