The recent Unreal Engine tech showcase for The Witcher 4 did not just give us insight into how development is coming along for the CD Projekt RED title, but it also got gamers thinking to the future for one other highly-anticipated release.
Earlier this week saw CD Projekt RED and Unreal Engine come together to showcase The Witcher 4 in all its glory.
The showcase gave fans a look at what has been made possible in terms of graphical performance thanks to Unreal Engine 5 and it is clear to see that The Witcher 4 will push the boundaries when it comes to its performance and clarity.

Although this is an exciting time for fans of The Witcher franchise, the recent tech demo has also got Bethesda fans thinking to the future, especially when it comes to the release of The Elder Scrolls VI.
The Elder Scrolls VI is reportedly in development at Bethesda but with information scarce, fans are feeling disheartened.
However, that has not stopped them from looking forward to TES VI getting the same treatment as The Witcher 4 in the recent showcase.
“Do y’all think it's possible for BGS's (Bethesda Game Studios) NPC interaction to reach the level of what we saw in that Witcher 4 demo?” One user recently asked on r/TESVI.

“One of the biggest selling points about BGS games are its NPCs and even though we have nothing to go on, I was wondering if y’all think it would be possible for BGS to achieve that sort of organic NPC interaction without using scripted events.”
It is true that NPC interaction can make or break an open-world game and it was not long before fellow fans came forward with their thoughts.
“In "Making of Oblivion" (2005) one of the devs says they had given NPCs more complex needs/tasks such as buying goods & practicing skills (there's even footage of a lady practicing archery) but had to roll it back,” one user explained.
“That was 15+ years ago.

Considering how fitting a game onto a disc is no longer a limitation, I expect them to at least try to do it. Lively NPCs are what people expect from BGS games.”
Another user is also feeling optimistic.
“I’m gonna be completely honest, I have a hunch that CDPR was overselling a lot in that demo,” they admitted. “But if anybody can do it, it’s Bethesda.”
Hopefully it won’t be long before the user’s question is answered.
