Steam drops 8 free games you can download and play this weekend

Surprisingly, at least half of these look really good

You can currently nab eight free games on Steam, without the need for a subscription or a loophole or any of that nonsense.

Of course, we gotta answer the same question we ask every time first; sure, they’re free, but are they worth your time? After all, not every free Steam game is created equal.

As per usual, thank you to the Free Steam Games Twitter for their tireless efforts in finding all of these freebies.

Right, I’m gonna try ranking these from what appear to be the worst to the best (at a glance), so feel free to skip to the second half if you trust me that much.

Hunter's Arena: Revolution is an action roguelike from developer and publisher Megalink with a Steam review score that probably speaks for itself.

Realms Road is a turn-based RPG from developer and publisher Mehmet Kemal Tankut that, unfortunately, just looks too barebones to recommend.

Scope Battle Royale is (surprisingly) a battle royale game from developer and publisher Operation Games. Looks serviceable, potentially, but nothing special.

Echoes of Time is an RPG from developer and publisher Acultproye that looks like it's got some heart, but also still seems a bit basic for my tastes.

Mech Merc Company is an OG PlayStation-style mech shooter from developer and publisher Michael Shoots. Looks fun enough, and I dig the style.

Nelli The Seer is a cute-looking little third person platformer from developer and publisher Objectif 3D. Very impressive reviews on this one.

Analog - Skin off is genuinely quite impressive looking short little horror game from developer and publisher Adouson. Looks right up my alley, so I'll be trying this one myself.

And finally, Blobun Mini is "bite sized" puzzle game where you play as a bunny made from goo. Reviews on this one are super positive.

That’s the whole list! But don’t worry, we’ll probably have another one for you in like… a few hours.

Seriously, how many free games go up on Steam each day?
