After being pushed by Xbox to start releasing more games, more DLCs, and just more content, Bethesda has ramped up its efforts to follow through on its promises.
But, its original efforts may be in vein.
Under the Asha Sharma reign, the famed Xbox studio has already made headway in getting The Elder Scrolls VI over the line, followed by a huge expanison of the Fallout universe, including remasters of the third mainline game and New Vegas; Fallout 5 is also in pre-production.
To tie people over for the string of huge releases, updates have been made to long-standing games too. Just a few days ago, the studio confirmed that Oblivion Remastered is to be given its first, long-awaited patch ahead of the Nintendo Switch 2 port, hopefully fixing the plague of bugs and glitches that render the popular RPG almost unplayable.

Now, the vault dwellers are getting some love too, with an update coming to Fallout 4 on August 18.
However, this patch isn't going down well with Fallout fans.
Fallout 4 patch could break mods and fans are livid
Taking to social media, Bethesda revealed that the Creations portion of Fallout 4 will be getting a lot of attention in the new patch.
But players will need to save their game manulaly before loading up, with a fear that the update could cause crashes, especially with mods enabled.
"As a precaution, prior to these updates we encourage players to log into your game save if you haven’t done so in a while or manually save your load order," the studio posted on X.
"Once your load order is saved, you’ll be able to re-download your entire Creations list at once when the update is live."
With such a small portion of the game being tweaked with the upcoming update, fans and modders have been sent into uproar.
"Drop update for 10 year old game > add s**t no one cares about > break every mod," one person said through the lens of a meme.
Another added, "Every time Bethesda updates Fallout 4, the entire modding community holds its breath. Just please tell me this won't break F4SE and ruin my current load order again.
A third angry fan added, "OH MY F**K THEY ARE DOING IT AGAIN. BREAK ALL THE FUCKING MODS FOR CREATION SLOP."

Things could go from bad to worse for the modding community, which accounts for a huge portion of the remaining player counts, as Skyrim is next.
"Additionally, we are also working on a Skyrim update with details to come soon.," Bethesda added.
That could mean all of the modded missions, aesthetic improvements, and overall game enhancements would have to be reworked to include any new features.
"A SKYRIM UPDATE? For the love of god please stop updating and breaking our load orders," another player ranted.
Knowing that the majority of players on these decade-old games are getting their kicks through community projects, these complaints appear valid without having a major improvement on the game through a DLC.
