The Elder Scrolls VI has got fans torn, following confirmation from Bethesda regarding the next instalment.

I don’t know about you, but it feels like every day the wait for new info regarding the next Elder Scrolls game becomes more unbearable.

We’re still probably years away from even having a first trailer, and Bethesda has been pretty quiet regarding new information for the Skyrim sequel.

But at least we have Oblivion Remastered to hold us over until then, which was released back in April.

At the beginning of the presentation video for the Oblivion remaster, Bethesda executive producer Todd Howard spoke about the legacy of the Elder Scrolls series.

“When you think about The Elder Scrolls, to us it goes beyond a game franchise, it's the DNA of Bethesda Game Studios.”

He then added: “Obviously we are working on the sixth chapter here,” teasing that the sixth Elder Scrolls was still in development.

As fans eagerly await more than just teasers, many are torn over this latest comment from The Todd, with one writing, “At least it's something.”

“You’re not going to hear anything from Bethesda until the games are really close to release,” writes a commenter underneath the post. “I think they know if they don’t show the game with gameplay people are gonna freak out about them having another announce trailer after the 2018 trailer.”

“I know they would never do it but shadow dropping TES VI would break the internet,” another comment reads.

“At this point, given his regret and feeling 'forced' to announce TES VI by the community, they're probably not going to until they have a confirmed release date within six to nine months, I'd say,” a third comment reads.

We probably won’t see much of The Elder Scrolls VI for a while, so I’m asking fans to hold out a little longer. The good news is that Skyrim is still just as popular as ever, and has a load of new mods and fan-made expansions every week to enjoy.
