Steam releases another six free games, available to download now

Six new free games have landed on Steam in the last week - here's what they're all about.

Who’s ready for some more free PC games? So many have been released lately that it’s genuinely getting difficult to keep up with them all, but if you can’t resist adding to your Steam library whenever possible, this lineup of titles will do nicely.

Compiled by Twitter account @SteamGamesPC, there’s plenty of variety to these Steam games, although it’s worth noting that are couple of them are ‘prologues’, which in this case means that they’re basically extended demos. Without further ado, let’s get into it.

On top of these titles, you can currently check out the free demo for the promising Metroidvania title, Ebenezer and The Invisible World. Take a look at the trailer below.

Let’s get those prologues out of the way first, shall we? The first is Let’s School: Homeroom, which lets you play the first two weeks of the upcoming school-building simulation game, Let’s School. As headmaster, you’re in charge of running and rebuilding an old school, as well as managing threats from an unknown evil force. The low-poly art style is adorable, and the game definitely looks like one you could lose many, many hours to very easily. Take a look here.

Next is the prologue for Survival & Horror: Hangman's Rope. This first-person horror shooter takes place in a cursed Wild West town full of dark secrets. Players must uncover the town’s mysteries while solving puzzles and fighting ghosts. Check it out here.

Now that the prologues are out of the way, let’s get into the full games. The Archipelago Promise is an open-world survival game in which you play as a sailor attempting to reunite with his lost brother. You’ll have to balance your thirst, health and hunger as you navigate the wilderness and ultimately unravel the archipelago’s mystery. You can find the full game here.

Meanwhile, War Gun is a multiplayer FPS in which you’ll duke it out against other players over a variety of maps and game modes. The game promises a “huge selection of weapons and equipment will allow you to customise your character and create unique battle tactics”. You can take a look at it here.

Downbass Warriors: Heroes of Maydamn is also a FPS, but it’s currently in early access, so it admittedly looks a little rough around the edges. Even so, a free game is a free game, right? You can give it a go here.

Finally, Home Sweet Home: Online is a multiplayer 4v4 horror battle game, in which players must duke it out and collect souls. At the end of a match, the team with the most souls wins. Simple, right? You can download it here.

If none of those games take your fancy, you can take a look at even more Steam freebies here.
