Steam adds 4 new free games to keep you busy

Did somebody say free?

Everyone’s favourite PC storefront, Steam, has a few free games available right now, and they’ll help you avoid the real world for a while.

That’s right, Steam has got four free games for you to add to your library and stack up even more of an impressive backlog.

Who doesn’t love free games? No matter what kind of genre you’re into, it’s likely there’s something here for everyone, so let’s get stuck in.

The Population Must Grow is a very simple city builder, with retro graphics that will conjure memories of playing on the family computer in the 1990s.

This one does away with any complicated mechanics and has you setting building tasks for residents to create the largest city possible.

Card games are popular at the moment, ever since Balatro revolutionised how we play them, and Voden’s Job takes the format even further.

Here, you’ll be using cards to evolve a specimen inside a lab, playing out combos through the cards that alters the DNA of the creature.

Using DNA and enzyme cards, your goal is to mutate the specimen before you run out of cards.

It’s an odd premise, but one that could work well for those looking for a more involved concept.

Next up, we’ve got a pig game: A Pee Wee Premiere, where you’ll play as a ceramic pig on the hunt for toothpicks, for some reason.

You’ll be exploring an oversized kitchen using 3D platforming mechanics of spinning, jumping, and flying to reach those all important toothpicks.

Lastly, Simple Zombie Survival does exactly what the name suggests, and throws waves of undead at you, while you attempt to survive by blasting them down.

This first-person shooter is playable on your own or with a few mates and features all kinds of bizarre moments, along with random weapons for you to utilise.
