Steam users have four more freebies to enjoy today, and no it’s not an April Fools joke, they’re actually pretty good.

The list of free PC titles continues to grow as the months go on, and honestly it can feel a little overwhelming at times to drag yourself through the store looking for what’s new.

For a simplified list, check out GAMINGbible’s list of the best PC games coming later this month, April 2026, all of which are free-to-play.

If you’re looking for something to play right now though, or perhaps over the coming bank holidays in the UK, below are four games well-worth your time.

Bird Watching Simulator

Simulator games are an odd bunch, as most of the time a simulator simulates something that you wouldn’t normally be able to do… bird watching is something you could do right now though…

Nevertheless Bird Watching Simulator is here if you want it, and is exactly what it says on the tin.

Head to your local park and keep an eye out for any delightful winged friends you spy through your binoculars, ticking them off your list as you go.

Words From Pluto...

This is a strange one. Words From Pluto… describes itself as an “experimental platformer” where “words are tied to movement.”

It’s pretty short, taking around 20 minutes to beat but there’s multiple endings so you can replay it a few times.

Movement is controlled through typed words rather than individual buttons on a keyboard, which is a really cool mechanic if not a little hard to get to grips with. It’s a little reminiscent of Tunic, which featured a similar mechanic where controls and hints were locked behind a made-up language.

KritterRun

A great one for those looking to learn a bit of Japanese apparently. KritterRun is a multiplayer racing game where players are given an English word and two Japanese words. You then have to quickly figure out which one is correct and run through it, with repetitive play obviously teaching you more and more Japanese.

It’s a very interesting concept, and a great way of combining fun with a simple learning experience.

Upcreek

Finally we have Upcreek, which has PowerWash Simulator vibes but without the powerwasher.

Your task in this game is to tidy up a cosy park in the middle of nowhere, by picking up rubbish wherever you can find it.

The rubbish itself in addition to the bins all have faces on them, which is a little weird but also oddly charming.
