Stardew Valley free update adds change we didn't know we needed

More Stardew Valley updates please us greatly

It seems Stardew Valley is forever receiving updates, and we’re very much here for that. It’s still an amazing game after so many years and every update has brought something substantial and enjoyable, never feeling like there has been a misstep. We’re all excitedly waiting for update 1.6 to be released and the developer, ConcernedApe, has been teasing the content on their Twitter account.

In a recent tease, they informed the community about an update to fruit trees that would “yield the appropriate sapling” This, for many, may not sound like a groundbreaking update, but it will help so many would-be farmers.

Stardew Valley could last players thousands of hours with the constant updates the game has received

The tease went on to inform us “If the tree is mature, it will yield a sapling with the same quality as the fruit. The higher the quality, the faster the sapling will mature when replanted.” Which is going to be a huge time save going forward. The change, according to ConcernedApe’s replies is “only intended to help people move their trees, not provide any economic benefit. The best money maker would be to plant your tree and never touch it again. This just makes it less of a tragedy if there comes a time when you have to move a tree.”

This is just one line from a huge list of updates and changes for the 1.6 update. Also included will be more endgame activities, a new major festival, winter outfits for the villagers, new types of rewards, lots of new items and crafting recipes, plus 8-player multiplayer for PC players.

It’s an exciting time for Stardew Valley players, though there’s a tinge of sadness too as this looks to be one of the last big content updates due to ConcernedApe moving on to their next game, Haunted Chocolatier. Make the most of the new update when it releases 19 March.
