Stardew Valley has a new fan-made expansion that is the size of a full blown DLC, adding hours of new content to enjoy.

One of the best things about Stardew Valley is the mods. Although ConcernedApe has spent years updating the game with loads of free content, the player-made mods take that even further to provide a near-endless amount of new experiences.

It seems like every week, we’re getting a new fan-made expansion that completely transforms the game, and that’s certainly what this new release on Nexus Mods has done.

East Scarp is an expansion from various Stardew Valley modders, which adds an entire new area to the game outside of Pelican Town.

Although the mod has been going on for about five years, it’s just launched its new 3.0 update which adds a ton of new things. Let’s dive in, shall we.

Stardew Valley: East Scarp explained

East Scarp adds “new NPCs, events, special orders, animals, crops, recipes, items, lore, plus stories and secrets”, so basically pretty much more of everything.

“Welcome to East Scarp, a bustling suburb adjacent to Pelican Town,” reads the mod’s description on Nexus Mods.

“This expansion is designed by the community, for the community.

“The base project includes 23 NPCs and a menagerie of critters to befriend, plus new farm animals, items, recipes, land, fish, and more. East Scarp also serves as a hub for the works of numerous other authors: there are over 15 additional characters - with more to come in the future - all with robust and substantial content of their own.”

As said above, what’s quite special about this expansion is that it acts as a coalition of various different Stardew Valley creators to unify a bunch of large mods.

That means a lot of the content in East Scarp isn’t necessarily from one person, but rather a large directive of modders.

In addition to the new characters, East Scarp also features “over 100 events” between different characters, who are each all carefully intertwined with each other. This includes new rewards for different interactions, giving you unique items, items, animals, crops and recipes.

As the mod page continues: “Enjoy high country fishing in the Deep Mountains, seek the elusive king carp, or hunt for nudibranchs in the tidepools. From the village itself, to the Deep Mountains, to Lore's Cove - there's always somewhere to poke around, things to find, and secrets to uncover.”

Stardew Valley: East Scarp is available to download now on Nexus Mods.
