Star Wars fans are, once again, back to debating recasting choices, but they do have a pretty good reason for it this time around…
Even though I’m old enough to be the exact target audience for them, I never really vibed with the Star Wars prequel trilogy as a kid.
That being said, I did think Count Dooku was cool as hell, and I was kinda disappointed to find out that, outside of The Clone Wars animated series, he’d never appear on our screens past this point.
Well, it turns out that while he never reappeared on screen, he did get some further backstory in a very well-received audio drama titled Dooku: Jedi Lost.

This story is so beloved that most of the Star Wars community wants to see it adapted in some other format, although doing so in live-action would be pretty difficult considering Christopher Lee’s passing.
Over on the r/StarWars subreddit, fans have been debating how (and if) the character should be brought back in a Dooku: Jedi Lost adaptation
“Who’s got the balls to play young Dooku? That’s some big shoes to fill”, commented user MPD1978.
“It is indeed. That's why I'm thinking keep it animated, and perhaps use the voice actor from Tales of the jedi for Dooku as an adult”, replied user Sabre_Killer_Queen.

“It was written to be an audio drama and is largely successful at that. I don’t view that artform as “lesser” than a live action production, so for me there’s really not much benefit for adaptation to a third format”, commented user OffendedDefender.
“But if you only read the script and never listened to the audio drama, I would highly recommend remedying that.”
Y’know, now that I’ve heard of Dooku: Jedi Lost… I feel like I’ve been infected with the same brain worm the fans have, because this sounds awesome.
Perhaps an animated series would be the best way to go about it however, because I cannot think of an actor that could come anywhere close to Christopher Lee’s performance.
