There are so many Star Wars games in the pipeline that it’s hard to keep up. A report recently revealed that Disney plans on releasing a new Star Wars game every six months which certainly fits with what we already know. All eyes are on next year’s Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, but that’s not all that’s in the works.
There’s also Skydance Media’s Amy Hennig created game, Respawn Entertainment’s untitled FPS, Ubisoft’s untitled open world game, Quantic Dream’s Star Wars: Eclipse, Zynga’s Star Wars: Hunters, Respawn’s untitled strategy game, and Saber Interactive’s Knights Of The Old Republic Remake. Phew, that’s a lot. Today though, fans are looking to the past as the incredible Star Wars: Battlefront II turns 17 years old.
Check out the teaser for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor below. Who do you think is in the bacta tank?
Star Wars: Battlefront II was released by Pandemic Studios on PlayStation 2, PSP, Xbox and PC back in 2005. If you missed this gem, you may have played 2017’s reboot but you should definitely check out the original. Battlefront II’s single-player campaign sees players join Darth Vader’s 501st legion of Stormtroopers.

Fans have gathered on social media to reminisce about what some are calling a “masterpiece”. Twitter user mayojar4 wrote, “The story mode is the best. The journal of the 501st is the best thing Star Wars has ever produced outside of the films,” while ju2000an simply labelled the game, “one of the greatest games of all time.”
Many fans also agreed on the fact that EA’s 2017 reboot just didn’t quite reach the same heights. XDshimigamiSAMA wrote, “Still a better game than EA’s Battlefront 2, can’t even do split screen instant action.” Most people simply labelled Star Wars: Battlefront II a GOAT and they’re right. Happy birthday Battlefront II. We still adore you.
