Star Wars Battlefront 2 fans can behold a brand new remaster for the game that came out this year.
Star Wars fans are loving the resurgence in popularity that Dice’s Battlefront 2 has gotten in the last few months, but that hasn’t stopped fans of the classic Battlefront games from giving the same love.
In May, Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005) jumped up from having an average concurrent player count of 167 to over 300.
Not quite the numbers that Dice’s game is getting, but still a sign of the revitalised interest in Star Wars trickling out into other media.

If you’re a classic Battlefront 2 fan that wants to breathe some new life into the game though, be sure to check out the new remaster project by modder Harrisonfog.
Harrisonfog’s Battlefront 2 Remaster Project does exactly as it says on the tin, with textures, lighting, and other effects given much needed enhancements.

All 18 maps from the base game have been remastered with these new features, and along with new models and textures for units, weapons, and vehicles.
Quite a lot of work has gone into the mod to achieve this, so it’s impressive to see everything looking so crisp and detailed.
Meanwhile, Harrisonfog has also added 10 additional custom maps to the game for you to play through, each one based on a specific location in the Star Wars universe.
Since the games share the same engine, the mod should work with both the original Star Wars: Battlefront 2 from 2005, and Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection from last year. Be sure to follow the installation instructions to access the mod.

If you’re a fan of the original Battlefront games, it seems like this mod might be a good one to check out while we wait for Battlefront 3.
