More than a few fans hoping to get their hands on Sony's latest console, the PlayStation 5, have only come away with disappointment. Global computer chip shortages have left demand far outweighing what Sony can supply. This in turn has lead Sony to lower its expectation for how many units it would be able to produce and sell within a financial year by 3million.
The PS5 has still sold extremely well, with units flying off the shelf as fast as they can stack them. This means not only has to outsold other less popular consoles like the WiiU, but that at times it feels near impossible to get your hands on one even now, almost two years after release. Well if you are one of those still on the hunt for the latest gaming hardware, Sony has answered all your prayers.

PlayStation has launched Treat Codes, an event involving 14 sets of codes made up of PS5 controller inputs. The codes will be sprinkled across the internet and social media, as well as at major real world events from Monday (15 February) until the end of the month. Sony has suggested the real world codes can be found at "high profile events involving sports, gaming, film, and music".

If you find a code you can enter it in the website for a chance to win. Get all 14 codes and you will have 14 chances to enter. The only real hint Sony gave was to check out content creators channels, where PlayStation games are being streamed this week. This likely refers to upcoming AAA PlayStation exclusive Horizon Forbidden West. With its intense popularity, it narrows down the hunt from literally anywhere, to only a couple thousand or so places.
Finding the code obviously does not mean you will win a PS5, only that you will be entered in to win, presumably with everyone else who found the code. Still, with how difficult it is to get your hands on a PS5 by paying for it, this may end up being the easier option.
