June’s free monthly PlayStation Plus games have been officially confirmed by Sony, and there’s no doubt that they’re going to cause some division amongst subscribers. Not that that’s anything new, of course.
This follows an unofficial leak from a few days ago, which has proven to be completely accurate. This month, subscribers will be able to get their hands on God of War, Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker, and Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. Whether you think that’s a good lineup or not is totally up to you.
God of War's release on PC has invited a whole load of hilarious mods, including this one which replaces the characters with familiar faces from The Simpsons - check it out below.
God of War obviously stands out as the star of the show here - it’s a really excellent title, and this is an amazing opportunity to pick it up if you’ve not played it already. But that’s the issue, right there - so many of us already have. It was already free to play on the soon-to-be-defunct PlayStation Now service, and is also being added to the overhauled PlayStation Plus’ library of PS4 and PS5 games for Extra and Premium tier subscribers, so there’s probably a fair few people feeling slightly cheated by its inclusion in this month’s free games. Still, if you’re planning on sticking to PS Plus’ Essential tier, and hadn’t tried this title before, consider yourself covered for all Kratos-related needs.

Otherwise, we have two fighting games - one for the anime fans, and one for the cartoon fans. That was thoughtful, wasn’t it? In Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker you can team up in groups of four to take on others online, and in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, you’ll be able to battle it out as a load of iconic Nickelodeon characters (including Spongebob, Danny Phantom, Garfield and Korra).
You’ll be able to add these games to your library from 7 June to 4 July , so make sure to grab them as soon as they become available next week. Meanwhile, you have until 6 June (next Monday) to grab May’s freebies, FIFA 22, Tribes of Midgard, and Curse of the Dead Gods - don’t miss out.
