The prettiest way to play Skyrim just dropped, and contrary to my assumptions, you don’t even need a machine from 2035 to play it.
I spent a lot of money on my PC. It is probably quite easily the most expensive thing I own, because I’m the type of dork that wants to make sure that my rig can play stuff uncapped and in 4K.
This isn’t a brag, but more a contextual setup… because looking at some of these images from the “Ultimate” version of Skyrim made me terrified for the first time in months that my PC might not be able to handle what’s on offer.
Admittedly, that’s partially Bethesda’s fault. For some reason my PC can run stuff like Cyberpunk 2077 and Dragon’s Dogma 2, with every setting whacked up to max, but it whines and screams any time I try to play Fallout 4.

Surprisingly, however, it would seem that you only need a semi-decent rig from around 2020 to actually get this behemoth of a Skyrim overhaul to run, and I genuinely have no idea how that’s possible.
The "13 Years Of Skyrim Ultimate Graphics" mod by Nexus Mods author PredCaliber is, as they explain, a twelve year long project that combines several different mods into one big package.
PredCaliber also notes that you only need a "Recent(ish)" CPU, such as an "i5/i7 with decent clockspeed", and an RTX 2080 to get the mod running (although they do suggest that you have something a bit more powerful to get the most out of it).
I almost don’t believe that’s true, because good lord does this mod look beautiful. Obviously it’ll be running on a better rig than the minimum specs suggest, but even so.

If The Elder Scrolls VI looks anything like this, you’re gonna need a PC powerful enough to land a rocket on the moon to get that game running.
