Skyrim players can now download a brand new free quest, titled The Heart’s Toll.

For a game that’s nearly 15 years old, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim continues to be the game that keeps on giving with the abundance of free content being released for it.

Aside from the various creation club content that Bethesda promotes in-game, community mods also pave the way for giving you another several hundred hours of playtime.

This new Skyrim mod is yet another piece of free content for you to sink your teeth into, providing you with a brand new quest to tackle during your adventures.

The Heart's Toll Is A New Small-To-Medium Length Quest Mod

Available for Skyrim: Special Edition, The Heart’s Toll is a small quest centred around a character called Tia, who is a 'a former basket weaver who is now forced to search for a cure to her brothers mysterious ailment'.

Your player character will join Tia in this search, exploring the love she holds for her brother and the lengths she’ll go to for his survival.

The Heart’s Toll is created by Nimwraith, and if that name sounds familiar to you, we’ve covered their Skyrim mods quite extensively in the past, including Depths of the Soul, War’s Folly, and Once We Were Here.

Even with over 50 Skyrim mods under their belt, Nimwraith said that The Heart’s Toll features “my most emotionally charged dialogue to date, I can confidently say The Heart's Toll is one of my best projects that I've ever produced.”

The mod features full voiceover by veteran modding actors MeekVoice and Elizabeth Plant (the latter of whom we previously interviewed on GAMINGbible), and brings 150-plus lines of emotional dialogue to the game.

Nimwraith

Nimwraith also teases that the mod uses “one of Skyrim's most overlooked mechanics and uses it as a central device,” and features a constantly evolving location with Tia’s house, where the items and decorations change depending on your progress within the quest.

It has custom assets too, with a custom armour set and unique model being added to the game to help with the overall narrative of the mod’s story.

If you’re interested in checking out Skyrim: The Heart’s Toll, you can grab it now for free from Nexus Mods.

It’s only currently available on PC, but Nimwraith has stated that they are looking for a volunteer to help port it to Xbox consoles.
