Skyrim fans horrified by secret quest they wish they'd never found

Well, that's gruesome

Thanks to its expansive map, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is no stranger to a secret or two lurking in the various dungeons, abandoned buildings, and structures around the land.

Despite first being released back in 2011, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is still enjoyed as much today as it was over 10 years ago.

Check out the official trailer for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim below!

Partly due to love for the game and partly due to The Elder Scrolls VI feeling like a distant dream, no matter how you look at it, Skyrim has become a modern-day classic.

Another reason fans return to the RPG is because, despite its age, players are still discovering many secrets around its expansive map and now there is another to uncover.

Located at Frostflow Lighthouse on the coast of Winterhold, players can stumble across this seemingly ordinary building and go inside.

However, a nightmare soon ensues when you discover the bodies of a Redguard couple known as Ramati and Habd.

With the room covered in blood and apparent signs of a struggle, Ramati can be found with a Falmer War Axe sticking from her chest and nearby there is the body of a Chaurus.

Players can decide to leave this gruesome scene as it is or they can take on one of Skyrim’s many miscellaneous quests which will see them avenge the young couple.

By reading diaries throughout the Lighthouse, you will eventually find yourself in the cellar and your ultimate goal will be to find the Chaurus Reaper and slay it.

Doing so will award you with the Sailor’s Repose active effect which boosts healing spells by 10%.

One player recently took to r/skyrim to discuss Frostflow Lighthouse and the horrors inside.

“I bolted out of there and still can’t shake the feeling that I missed something important. It feels like there’s a darker story behind what happened, but I’m not sure I want to go back to find out,” they shared.

Fellow players soon started talking about the gruesome scene but it was one player in particular that ended off the mission in a heartwarming fashion.

“This quest is quite sad and scary. I felt so sad at the end that I used necromancy on the two corpses I found and waited until both of them turned to ashes together, side by side,” they revealed.

Bethesda has done it again.
