The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim may not be a horror game but that does not mean that there are some instances of pure horror littered around its expansive map.

Unfortunately for one player, one such location left them feeling so rattled that they wish they had never found it at all.

Check out the official trailer for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim below!

When you are not shooting guards in the knee or fighting dragons, plenty of time is spent in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim exploring its vast open-world.

With dungeons, caves, towers, and castles to explore, you are never too far away from something interesting to discover and that was definitely the case for one Reddit user over on r/skyrim.

Late last year, they took to the subreddit to share a horrifying location with other fans.

“Frostflow Lighthouse: The one place I wish I had never found”, they shared.

“I came across Frostflow Lighthouse while exploring the coast, thinking I’d found a quiet place to rest.

Instead, I walked into a nightmare—blood everywhere, and the bodies of a whole family left behind. But the worst part? The ghost of the lighthouse keeper’s wife appeared right in front of me, her face full of fear and sadness.

I bolted out of there and still can’t shake the feeling that I missed something important. It feels like there’s a darker story behind what happened, but I’m not sure I want to go back to find out.”

Located on the coast of Winterhold, Frostflow Lighthouse was reportedly owned by a Redguard couple who had recently moved to Skyrim from Hammerfell.

However, it seems as though the move was a mistake as players can explore the home to find the site of a violent struggle and the wife dead with a Falmer War Axe in her chest.

Finding the corpses will trigger a quest so it is definitely worth checking out this side quest if you want a touch of horror in your Skyrim playthrough.

Hopefully you will now be a bit more prepared than that unfortunate player.
