The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim may have been out in the world for 13 years but that doesn’t mean that players are not still discovering hidden features that we never even knew existed.

From hidden chests to secrets lurking within Solitude, recent years have been dedicated to fans of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim diving back into the 2011 RPG and finding all manner of features that were originally missed.

Now another secret has joined the fray after one user over on r/skyrim shared a discovery in one of Skyrim’s many caves.

Found within Darkfall Cave when you are on your way to retrieve Auriel’s bow during the events of the Dawnguard DLC, this user stumbled across a hidden tunnel.

“This neat little shortcut... Only noticed it today,” they posted alongside a video of the discovery.

The tunnel can be accessed via a well-hidden pull chain found behind a makeshift wooden shelter.

Pulling the chain results in the nearby tunnel being revealed from behind a large boulder and taking this route will shave a good few minutes off the journey into the inner sanctum.

Although plenty of these “discoveries” have not been discoveries at all, this one has managed to blow fan’s minds as they took to the comments to share their amazement.

“This f**king game. I tell ya,” one comment read.

Another said: “Every time I see a "this is something I just noticed" it's something I've typically seen. This on the other hand- this is something I never knew about.”

With some fans convincing themselves that this hidden tunnel was added in after release, there is no way to tell but it’s just further proof that Bethesda was not messing around when they made this open-world RPG back in 2011.
