Skyrim hidden dungeon traumatises fans: 'why would you do this Bethesda'

Please don't make me relive this dungeon, I beg of you...

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim players have been reminiscing about the most traumatising dungeon in the entire game, although it seems to have upset people for two entirely different reasons.

Bethesda loves sneaking a sad story or two into their games, and Skyrim is no exception… especially where today’s example is concerned.

Those who have played through the game a dozen times probably already know exactly which dungeon I’m on about, but those of you who haven’t explored Frostflow Lighthouse are probably in for a bit of a downer evening once you do.

The thing is, while the story hidden within the dungeon is what traumatises most players, it seems a few of the commenters over on the r/skyrim subreddit somehow managed to make the entire experience somehow way worse in a variety of comical ways.

“The very first time I did this quest, I had Voice of the Sky active and didn't realise it,” commented user corvidier.

“Traipsed through the entire underbelly with docile chaurus just durdling around doing their thing, thought they were kinda cute, didn't think much of it even after reading all the journals… the betrayal I felt when I did that quest on my next playthrough.”

“I was about to freeze to death when it came into my vision at night, during a snowstorm. I cast Soothe on myself and chugged a bottle of wine to stave off the cold long enough to get indoors and start a fire,” replied user CoffeeGoblynn.

“I actually think I'd never been there before that playthrough, despite having 1000+ hours in the game by then. When you're a weak, squishy, half-frozen low-level mage and you get stuck somewhere like that during a blizzard, it's capital F F**ked.”

If you haven’t checked out this location yet, I highly recommend searching up nothing about it and just tracking it down for yourself.

If you have though, well… feel free to forward your therapy bills to Bethesda.
