The Elder Scrolls VI fans are roasting a recent release date leak, and to be fair, I don’t blame them.

Bethesda announced The Elder Scrolls VI all the way back at E3 2018 and to this day, we still do not have a confirmed release date, let alone a gameplay trailer.

There’s not much we can say about the next entry in The Elder Scrolls series other than that, at this point, it feels like it’s turned into a meme and that Bethesda is torturing us. We can only hope that official details drop at some point this year.

Another game that has been a meme long before The Elder Scrolls VI is Half-Life 3 from Valve.

Sure, we had the prequel Half-Life: Alyx in 2020, which prevented a large chunk of its fan base from playing it by being a VR exclusive, but fans would love nothing more than to have a new game in the series that we can play without putting a plastic accessory on our head.

Over the years, we’ve seen constant rumours that Half-Life 3 is going to be released soon. However, I think it’s fair to say that we’ve all become numb when it comes to speculation surrounding the game that has tormented us since the release of Half-Life 2: Episode Two in 2007.

Oh, and we never got Half-Life 2: Episode Three either! Seriously, Valve, why do you keep doing this?

TheGamer's James Troughton recently speculated that Half-Life 3 was likely to arrive before The Elder Scrolls VI and GTA VI, prompting a discussion over on Reddit.

“I won't believe it until it's officially announced,” said LionAlhazred, with FacegrinderWon adding, “I won't believe until I can buy it.”

“I don't believe it at all, but if we did get ‘Half Life 3 before GTA VI', it would become one of the greatest memes of all time,” exclaimed jakeh36.

“I want to believe, I really do, but until Half-Life 3 is outright confirmed, I will remain sceptical,” replied EconomyAd1600.

“The Elder Scrolls VI won't be coming until 2027, at least. Half-Life 3 is never coming in the next 10 years,” declared Ok_Reflection1950.

Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to be released on 26 May 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

As for The Elder Scrolls VI and Half-Life 3, I doubt even the spirit of Mystic Meg will have those answers.
