The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim's combat has been completely overhauled into one endless debate, we kid you not. It literally is a debate.
Despite being 13 years old at the time of writing, 2013’s The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a fantasy RPG that’s aged like fine wine. The title has also been re-released so many times that even Bethesda has trolled itself. But to be fair, it is a great game.
Whether it’s epic quests, random non-linear adventures, NPC soldiers who tell tales of receiving an arrow to the knee, kicking chickens, or its varied combat, there’s plenty of fun to be had in the beloved The Elder Scrolls title. However, none of us could have predicted that the game's combat would one day be overhauled like this.
Yes, you can now defeat your enemies with words in Skyrim; this is no joke. Content creator Blurbs has modded Skyrim so that you can debate the elder dragons into defeat, and it’s hilarious!
“I modded Skyrim so you can only defeat dragons by debating them on the geopolitics of Tamriel,” tweeted Blurbs. “Unfortunately, Twitch chat forgot the geopolitics part almost immediately.”

At the end of the video, we see Blurbs defeat the dragon with words, and if it wasn't funny enough seeing the mythical beast being killed in such a way, the dragon dropping an F-Bomb wasn't on my bingo card.
“I remember one of the loading screens said that dragons battling was literally them in the course of a fierce verbal debate because of how their words form the Thuum, so technically this is lore accurate,” replied Halo5678. And yes, that is true.
“Of course, we are debating nonsensical conspiracy theories instead of the Thalmor,” said Grillsteak.
“This is so peak,” declared imbratorX.
As far as we’re aware, no. This PC mod was created exclusively by Blurbs to be used during his streams for some jolly viewer engagement.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is out on just about every platform imaginable, including PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2. It's also currently included in Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus.
