Skyrim players can now tuck into a new free overhaul for the first-person camera and controls which makes the game far more immersive.
Although a majority of people already opt to play The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim in first-person mode over the clunky third-person view, there is some agreement that certain animations or controls could be better.
A brand new collection of mods has now overhauled this to be more immersive, offering you more control over the first-person camera in Skyrim as well as unlocking a few new features for authenticity.
As shared by YouTuber Heavy Burns, the collection includes a variety of mods which change how the first-person camera behaves, as well as adding new animations, movement controls, and other immersive features that enhance your experience playing in first-person.

This new first-person view overhaul for Skyrim is how we want The Elder Scrolls 6 to look
To start with, Heavy Burns highlights a mod which adds a load of new first-person animations that you can see during many of Skyrim’s various jobs.

Previously, when you performed certain activities like chopped wood, cooked food, or rode a horse you’d be forced into using third-person mode, which breaks immersion if you’re sticking with the first-person camera for your entire playthrough.
Now, this mod changes this so you’re always in first-person view for any activity you take part in. You can also see your character’s body when you look down, which we’ll take as a big win as well.
Entirely new animations are also added with the mod as well, such as new combat staggers which have been overhauled to be quicker and more responsive. Other new animations have been added for everyday activities as well, such as eating, solving puzzles, praying at altars, and picking up items.
Some other changes to the camera include adding some inertia when moving around, similar to how you’d behave when moving or jumping in real life, as well as an Oblivion-style dialogue camera which zooms in on a speaker when you engage in conversation, allowing you to closer focus on the speaker’s face when talking with them.
What we’d say is really cool about the mod collection though is the addition of SkyParkour, which aims to take a leaf out of many modern RPGs by including first-person and third-person animations for parkour to Skyrim.
New animations and functionality for this have been added, such as being able to grab at ledges and pull yourself up, as well as vaulting over low fences and walls to propel yourself forward. It’s a must have for any players who enjoy using acrobatics in their Skyrim playthrough, especially thief characters.
Finally, some changes to combat have also been made including a hitbox overhaul to make things more precise, and new dynamic effects which trigger depending on the exact attack you make.
If anything, we'd say that these mods should represent how we want The Elder Scrolls 6 to look, but seeing as we still haven't had a trailer for that yet, we'll just have to wait and see what happens there.
