Silent Hill fans reckon they’ve found the perfect reboot casting for one of its key heroes, and we get it.

We’re living in a bit of a Silent Hill renaissance at the moment. Beginning with last year’s Silent Hill: The Short Message and Silent Hill 2 remake, it seems Konami is going all-in with new projects.

We’ve got the upcoming Silent Hill f to look forward to, not to mention Silent Hill: Townfall and the new Return to Silent Hill movie, the latter of which is coming in January.

With Konami particularly interested in rebooting the older games in the series, either through new game remakes or movie adaptations, Silent Hill fans reckon they’ve found the perfect actress to portray Heather Mason.

Over on the Silent Hill Reddit page, fans are united in the idea that Hollywood actress Sophie Thatcher could play Heather Mason in a reboot of Silent Hill 3.

Thatcher is no stranger to horror. In the past couple of years, she’s had roles in The Boogeyman, MaXXXine, Heretic, and Companion. So a new Silent Hill movie could be the perfect project for her.

“Come on, just look at that,” writes the poster. “It’s actually scary how much she resembles Heather. Besides that, she’s a very good actress too. I’m literally praying for Konami to cast her in SH3R.”

“She looks like Heather and has played characters that show that she could act well as Heather too,” wrote a comment in the replies.

“Normally I'm not a huge fan of dream casting but I saw this and went ‘you know what.... F*** yeah. I'd love that’”, wrote another.

“Dude she would be a phenomenal choice,” a third commenter wrote. “Never heard of her. Saw photo. 100% agree.”

In the original Silent Hill 3 video game, Heather was played by Heather Morris, while in the live-action film Silent Hill: Revelation (itself an adaptation of the third game), she was played by Australian actress Adelaide Clemens.

If Bloober Team’s remake of Silent Hill does well, the studio would presumably move on to a remake of Silent Hill 3, at which point it will be looking at who to cast as Heather.

The same goes for if Return to Silent Hill finds success at the cinema, at which point a revived interest in making new Silent Hill films could happen.
