Silent Hill: Townfall is follow-up to P.T, says insider

According to a new report, insiders have claimed that Silent Hill: Townfall is set in the same universe as P.T.

Last week’s Silent Hill Transmission has given fans a lot to be excited about. Having gone over a decade without any full game releases, even one new title would have been thrilling, but Konami had a lot more up their sleeves than that.

As well as Silent Hill f (a totally new game in the franchise), a remake of the 2001 classic Silent Hill 2, a new movie directed by Christophe Gans, and a “live, real-time interactive series” called Silent Hill: Ascension launching next year, we also have Silent Hill: Townfall to look forward to. ‘What’s Townfall?’ Great question - no one really knows.

Check out the mysterious trailer for Silent Hill: Townfall right here.

The title is a co-production between No Code (the team behind the episodic horror Stories Untold, and adventure-puzzle Observation) and Annapurna Interactive. Yes, that’s right, the devs behind the cute ginger cat game are making a new Silent Hill, which makes me all the more curious to see the result.

Although the official details remain a mystery, The Leak reports that Townfall may actually be related to P.T. in some way. They claim that according to their sources, the upcoming title “lives in the same universe” as the iconic demo. However, it’s not known if it’ll be a sequel: “Townfall might feature references to P.T., but not explicitly be a continuation,” one of The Leak’s sources apparently said.

Fans have been obsessed with P.T.’s existence ever since it released in 2014 as a playable teaser (hence the name) for Kojima Productions’ Silent Hills. Unfortunately, Silent Hills was later cancelled in 2015, and P.T. is no longer accessible on the PlayStation Store. With that in mind, the concept of it potentially making a return of sorts in a new title is definitely one that many would be hyped for - we’ll just have to watch this space.
