It is hard to believe that it has been three-years since Rockstar Games suffered a major leak, seeing hours of GTA VI footage leaked online.
Consisting of 90 videos and over 50 minutes of work-in-progress gameplay, the Grand Theft Auto VI leak was one of the biggest in gaming history with the hacker claiming that they had downloaded the footage from Rockstar’s personal Slack channels.
Of course, the footage was soon taken down but there was no doubt that the damage was done as it was these leaks that gave us our first sneak peek at Vice City and brand-new protagonists Jason and Lucia.
Since the leak, the hacker has been arrested and sentenced but over the years, it has led to Grand Theft Auto VI being the subject of many other leaks and rumours courtesy of insiders. Earlier this week, a video was posted on the Zap Actu GTA 6 Twitter account which reportedly shows more leaked footage taken from the upcoming game.

“A new video has just been posted by multiple anonymous accounts — and things are starting to get wild,” the post reads, alongside a video of what looks to be like Jason walking topless along the sidewalk."

It adds: “The clip shows a leak that quietly surfaced yesterday, but here’s the twist. It was apparently filmed INSIDE Rockstar Games studios.
"Yes; someone inside the building might have captured it.”
At first glance, Grand Theft Auto VI fans were shocked to see what looks like genuine unseen footage from the game.
However, it was not long before the suspected leak was debunked by fellow Grand Theft Auto VI Twitter accounts.
Officially debunked, sorry guys
“This is an old leak,” user GTA Assassin replied.
“A while ago, an image from Rockstar's San Diego office leaked. This video is probably morphed or AI generated.”
User D4RKSTORM agreed, adding, “Fake! It comes from a screenshot of a tweet dated 1 January 2025, which was modified by adding a video to it.
"What's more, the screenshot is certainly much older than the tweet that used it?!”
Both of these replies come with evidence of the leak being fake and unlike the original post, it is clear to see that these have not been manipulated in any way.
With Grand Theft Auto VI being a year away from launch following another delay earlier this year, it seems as though some fans are getting desperate not just for the game but for a bit of fame.
Unfortunately, its more dedicated fans are here to stop these fake leaks in their tracks.
Grand Theft Auto VI launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S on 19 November 2026.
