The upcoming Resident Evil movie reboot can wait, again, because fans are showing Hollywood how it's done, and the OG cast is returning.
Anyone who knows me will know that I am obsessed with Capcom’s legendary survival horror franchise, Resident Evil. I consume every bit of Resident Evil content humanly possible, for better or worse.
Heck, I’ve even lost count of how many times I’ve watched the live-action Resident Evil movies, and perhaps, other than the exception of Resident Evil: Apocalypse, which is more of a guilty pleasure, they all suck. Big time. That being said, the CGI movies are decent, at least.
We do have the Resident Evil movie reboot to look forward to, which is being directed by Zach Cregger, who also directed the fantastic horror movies Barbarian (2022) and Weapons (2025).

I am optimistic about Cregger’s movie, but we’ve all been here before. We’ve looked forward to every live-action Resident Evil movie so far, and I bet most of us have felt let down.
Resident Evil Fans Living the Dream
However, in 2024, a team of content creators and independent filmmakers got together to successfully crowdfund The Keeper’s Diary: A Biohazard Story, a tale inspired by the original Resident Evil that was released in 1996.
The Keeper’s Diary: A Biohazard Story starred Charlie Kraslavsky, who played the original Chris Redfield in the live-action cut-scenes and Pablo Kuntz, the voice of Albert Wesker.
Now, it’s follow-up, Resurrection: A Biohazard Story, has launched its crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo.
“The story reunites iconic faces as they are thrust into the heart of a terrifying new biohazard crisis in the small town of Rosa Enferma, Mexico, in the year 2021,” reads the synopsis of Resurrection: A Biohazard Story.
“But this time, multiple parties stand at attention, old and new, a division born of recent contentions. Before long, loyalties and values are put on trial, and no one is exempt.”
In Resurrection: A Biohazard Story, the OG cast is even bigger and better than its predecessor, with not only the returning Charlie Kraslavsky but also Eric Pirius (the live-action Albert Wesker), Greg Smith (the live-action Barry Burton), Linda (the live-action Rebecca Chambers) and Annie Roig, who will play Jill Valentine.
Resurrection: A Biohazard Story will be directed once more by Andrew Saullo with the content creators at Residence of Evil, Biohazard: Declassified, and Let’s Talk Resident Evil all lending their writing, directing and production services again. Resurrection: A Biohazard Story will be released over four episodes with a 15-minute runtime for each.
While the creators of A Biohazard Story will appreciate any financial support possible (which can earn some exclusive rewards), I know they’d equally appreciate your support by watching their movies and helping to spread the word.
