The return of Lady Dimitrescu in Resident Evil has been confirmed and fans are all for it.

Unless you were living under a social media rock following the announcement of 2021’s Resident Evil Village, the conclusion to the Ethan Winters saga, then there’s a good chance you would have seen the buzz surrounding Lady Dimitrescu, played by the brilliant Maggie Robertson.

Before we knew her real name, Lady Alcina Dimitrescu, most referred to her as the “tall vampire lady”. By the time the game was released, it became apparent that there was more to her than being a “vampire”, but I won't say much else to avoid spoilers.

There were also three other villains in Resident Evil Village, each representing a different House, under the command of Mother Miranda. Those were Donna Beneviento, Salvatore Moreau and Karl Heisenberg. However, as good as those other villains are, Lady Dimitrescu is most certainly the show stealer of the game.

No doubt fans of Lady Dimitrescu would love to see her return in the Resident Evil series, and while that isn't happening anytime soon, we are getting a return of sorts. It’s just perhaps not in the way you might assume.

This week, Capcom announced that pre-orders for Resident Evil Requiem have gone live. One of the versions of the game available for launch is the ‘Deluxe Edition’, both in physical and digital form.

The only major difference between the two versions is that the Resident Evil Requiem Deluxe Edition (physical) has a steelbook case for your game. Other than that, all the digital bonus content is identical.

Lady D is back, in a way

One piece of digital content included in both Deluxe Editions is a Lady Dimitrescu skin for the Resident Evil Requiem protagonist, Grace Ashcroft.

“Capcom knew what they were doing with this one. I have to respect it,” declared Dude_788, circling the Lady Dimitrestcu skin (which is one of five DLC skins).

“It's an inside joke. Maggie Robertson, who voices Lady D and has been featured in the Summer Game Fest ads and ‘Road to Requiem’ videos, is the voice for Alyssa Ashcroft,” replied United-Surround4223.

Alyssa Ashcroft is a returning character from the Resident Evil Outbreak games and is the mother of Grace.

“Gamers... gooners... both start with the G-Virus,” joked Realistic-Collar-712. From this moment forth, I will forever see the G-Virus as the Gooner-Virus. Thanks, Realistic-Collar-712.

Resident Evil Requiem will be released on 27 February 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
