According to a “leak”, two iconic Resident Evil characters are set to return in the story DLC for Requiem.

We’ve already been blessed with some amazing games this year, such as Forza Horizon 6, Saros and Pragmata, to name a few. However, out of all those amazing games, perhaps many gamers would choose Resident Evil Requiem as the best release of 2026 so far.

Resident Evil Requiem takes us back to Raccoon City, following the T-Virus outbreak 30 years ago, and we play as the returning Leon S. Kennedy, and the new character to Capcom’s iconic survival horror series, Grace Ashcroft.

From start to finish, Resident Evil Requiem is a blast filled with terror, suspense and heartbreak. What’s more, players who wanted more of the good stuff were recently treated to a fantastic and free roguelike mode, ‘Leon Must Die Forever’.

Could Resident Evil Requiem DLC Be Revealed Next Month?

We know for a fact that Resident Evil Requiem is getting story DLC at some point very soon, as Capcom has officially confirmed it. However, what we don’t know for sure is what story it will tell and what kind of gameplay it will feature.

That being said, Reddit user PresidentEvil1997 believes they may have the answer. The Redditor speculates that the first story expansion for Resident Evil Requiem will be revealed at Summer Game Fest next month.

What’s more, they speculate that the story DLC will be split into two parts. The first part will feature Ada Wong and Claire Redfield in the modern day, following the concluding events of Resident Evil Requiem.

The second part of the DLC will have us play as Alyssa and Grace Ashcroft before the events of Resident Evil Requiem, and will take us back to the infamous Spencer Mansion.

PresidentEvil1997 also speculates that in the first DLC, we will learn that Leon is married to Claire. I really hope this is true, because especially in the 2019 remake of Resident Evil 2, Leon and Claire have undeniable chemistry.

Take This Speculation With a Pinch of Salt

As with all speculation and unconfirmed rumours, it should be taken with a pinch of salt until officially confirmed otherwise. While the events above are very plausible, it reads more like a fan theory than genuine leaked information. It also looks like the screenshot used in the Reddit post of Ada is a PC mod.

Of course, it’s worth considering that playing prequel events as Grace and Alyssa is very likely. It was teased in the main story of Resident Evil Requiem, and it’s something that Capcom is most likely aware that it’s something many fans want.

Secondly, after it was teased that Leon is married in Resident Evil Requiem, fans have speculated that his wife could be Ada or Claire, and if either is true, it makes all the sense in the world that this could be a story focus of its DLC.

Finally, while Summer Game Fest is an obvious place for any major reveal, Capcom likes to make its big announcements in its own digital presentations, as it means they’ve not got to pay to be featured in the event. So that might be worth keeping in mind.

As always, as soon as Capcom officially reveals the story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem, we’ll let you know. Resident Evil Requiem is out now on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2.
