A fanmade trailer for a potential Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake is doing the rounds on social media, and fans are losing their minds over it.
Originally released in 2000 for the Dreamcast, Code Veronica was a sequel to the original Resident Evil trilogy that brought back Claire and Chris Redfield as they faced a new threat.
While the game isn’t a numbered entry to the series, it had some crucial elements that set up the story for future Resident Evil games.

For example, it explains the return of original villain Albert Wesker, whose appearances in Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5 probably confused those who skipped Code Veronica.
So with keeping that in mind, it’s why series fans would rather see a potential Code Veronica remake before Capcom touches Resident Evil 5. It’s pretty crucial to the overarching story, after all.
A fanmade concept for a Code Veronica remake was uploaded to YouTube last year from creator ColcheroMix, who has also published similar videos for other remakes and sequels.

The video uses footage taken from other games and movies, including mods and promotional material, to create a concept for a Code Veronica remake which resembles the modern Resident Evil remakes Capcom has been producing.
Footage has been taken from the computer-generated animation Resident Evil films, as well as modded Resident Evil 2 cutscenes and even from other games (I’m pretty sure I spotted Killing Floor in there?).
It's really well-edited, and could certainly believe this is something we'd see from Capcom itself.
The comments all seem in support of a Code Veronica remake too.

“Really hope they make a Code Veronica remake. They definitely need one,” writes one comment underneath the video.
“Doing a remake and a remaster not only brings nostalgia, it also recreates the immense feelings we had playing our favourite game for the first time,” wrote another.
A third comment writes: “This Trailer got me so hyped. It would be even more perfect if the part where you were running from the helicopter in the beginning was playable.”
Hopefully Capcom sees the demand out there for a Code Veronica remake and puts it into production.

Rumours have been circulating for a while that this is the plan, but the company has not yet confirmed any new Resident Evil projects for the time being.
