We may not have seen a lot of it so far, but it sounds like Resident Evil Requiem is absolutely going to break the internet with how reactions have been.
Resident Evil Requiem previews are out now, and fans are going absolutely wild over some of the footage that’s been released.
The demo features new protagonist Grace Ashcroft exploring what appears to be an abandoned sanitarium, trying to open locked doors and find her way around.
Eventually, she is stalked by a rather large, terrifying creature and the classic Resident Evil scares start to kick in.

As one of the most anticipated games of next year that isn’t called “Grand Theft Auto 6”, it sounds like Resident Evil Requiem is going to be an absolute hit judging from reactions so far.
“The fact you can bounce back and forth from first person to third person view is amazing and the detail is so good,” reads one comment underneath IGN’s preview.
“I knew getting the director of RE7 back was a good idea! This looks incredible,” reads a comment underneath Punish’s preview.
“Requiem looks way more scarier than Village and RE7,” reads another on Residence of Evil’s preview.

Indeed, in our own preview of Resident Evil Requiem, we said that the game “has the potential to be the scariest game in the series.”
Resident Evil Requiem follows Grace Ashcroft, an FBI analyst sent to investigate a series of mysterious deaths in a hotel where her mother Alyssa died eight years earlier.
The story will be set in Raccoon City about three decades after its destruction in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, and presumably we’ll see what’s left of iconic locations like the RPD station or Raccoon General Hospital.
Resident Evil Requiem is out on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on 27th February, 2026.
